This is such a perfect example of a glimpse in to my life parenting Tucker.
We arrive home from dinner/grocery store past bedtime. Kyle is out of town so I am beyond anxious for bedtime.
But low and behold there is a cat sitting on our driveway. Tuck screams "he is waiting for us! Let's get him some milk! etc.." and I attempt to slow down this train by telling him that the cat is going to run as soon as we get out and I'm frantically trying to remind him of his promise just moments earlier that we were walking in the door and heading to bed.
Of course the dang cat sat and stared at him and I'm not exaggerating when I say that by the time I had Charlie and bag #2 of groceries out of my car he already had been inside and was back out with a cup of milk, a baggie of birthday candles & bandaids...
Milk for the cat's bedtime snack, bandaids in case it scratched one of us and candles because "if this cat wants us then TODAY is going to be his birthday!"
I can't fathom how he thought through all those scenarios so quickly but, needless to say, we spent a good 10 minutes out there until mercifully Mac decided to run toward the cat as only Mac can do and the thing went over the fence.

If you have been with us on this blog for awhile you will recognize this as another Ryan fam cat story. Tuck and I have been attempting to find a perfect best friend for Jackson for about 4 years and have had two kittens that we have almost adopted (Elvis & Matt the Cat)... except for the fact that Kyle was never CLOSE to allowing it. And I only want an orange tabby so Elvis was my only love. This cat is hideous and not a kitten - so no chance with Jackson. The birthday idea certainly came from his recent discovery of Jackson's June 27th birthday. We have spent two days deciding how we will celebrate it. The boy loves to plan and loves birthdays, Fathers Day, etc. He truly wears me out with his intensity on a daily basis, but I LOVE that crazy boy!!
