Cape Cod Wedding Trip
My sister, Michele, got married to Rob Sept 15th on "The Cape" and we had an awesome trip! We had an amazing time complete with a wedding!, sightseeing, shopping (that somehow always accompanies sightseeing), time on the beach, a lobster/clam bake and a lot of time hanging out with family. Here are the pics... (unfortunately, in no particular order!)

Dancing with Auntie Terry!

We laughed all week that Tucker thought this party was all about him... here he is eating with the bride at the Rehearsal Dinner.
Lots of time hangin' at the "beets"
Rob & Michele greeting us for the weekend.
Wiped out on the plane ride home... the "aiwpwayne" was definitely the highlight of the trip for Tuck. He was beyond thrilled with getting to "wide up in the sky wid the cwouds." All week, in the middle of doing cool stuff, he'd ask "Are we going to the airport now?"
The Dunn's house that they so graciously shared with us all week.
One of MANY, MANY trips over the boardwalk to the beach.
You'll have to ask Kyle.

It's Official.....
In his first official (although it was really unofficial) parent-teacher conference, Miss Janelle has informed us that Tucker has "trouble listening". We arrived at this conclusion some time ago....But, there's always the "Well, he's only two" thing. What are his listening skills supposed to be at this age? Apparently, they are supposed to be greater than what he is currently exhibiting.
In reality he is probably middle of the road....he does not heed ALL of our spoken directives, but he does not ONLY do what he wants. I like middle of the road (MOTR)....that's different than "average", mind you. MOTR is Ok for some things, and this is one of those.

Academia
Tucker began his first week of preschool last week. It has been some of his cutest moments yet. We started talking it up Monday night and he quickly picked up that he was going to start "kool" (school). He was so excited that night he couldn't sleep. We could hear him in his bed talking about "kool" and "paying" and who knows what else. He stayed up late and didn't sleep well from all the excitement. In the morning we headed to the Waffle House. Kyle says this is our new tradition (every tradition of Kyle's finds it's way to the Waffle House.) We ate "catcakes" and got even more pumped. Then over the school for the first day of school picture by the Southside Methodist sign... we don't have it yet because it is still on the camera. No digital anymore! As he walked in to the building he was walking 2 feet in front of me, but leaning backward from the weight of his one pound lunch! :) He felt so cool, though, because all the other kids had backpacks on. When we got to the room, Miss Janelle cracked the door open and Tucker nearly ran in and did not look back. As usual, I was left at the door feeling like he doesn't care whether or not I exist -- better than the drama and crying, I guess! When I picked him up he had all sorts of adventures to tell me about. The "payground." The "choo-choos", etc. He was beaming. We can't believe how more he is talking in a week. And he sings all around the house. Cute. Pictures to follow!

Meeting Miller!
We had the opportunity to spend one of our sweetest times ever with our college FAMILY a couple weeks ago in Memphis. The highlight was meeting the gorgeous baby above, Miller Thompson!
Another highlight was watching our children play together. Olivia and Tucker above playing "choo-choos" and below, Livvy & Miller.
The low point of the trip was sweet Olivia's major toe injury. It was terrible and took a long time to stop bleeding - it helped once we got her lovey and elevated her foot above her heart!

Catching up...

We spent Tucker's 2nd Birthday in Hilton Head with my parents and the Korbeckis. Due to an unfortunate kayak incident, our digital camera has died and we are back to our awesome 35mm. It takes much better pictures, but it is harder to blog. Trade off.
First, the birthday.
He loved his trains from Nan and Pop and his basketball hoop from us.
He got an "Elmo at the Beach" cake. Kyle decided it needed 40 candles. Tuck loved the cake - but needed a lot of help blowing out all the candles - and he especially enjoyed helping himself to the icing. It reminded me of Girbs eating icing off the top of baked goods back in college b/c she was allergic to the cake part. He had that same technique of running his finger down the side on the top! :)
Ready for School
Thanks to Aunt Betsy (& Uncle Casey, I'm sure!) I have now taken the cutest picture of Tucker Ryan E-V-E-R. They sent this precious gift for his birthday. I can barely stand it. He put the backpack on and started strutting around like the Big Man on Campus that he is going to be.

What do you want to do today? "Kick Kick!"
Tucker's favorite activity of the summer has been swimming ("Kick Kick") lessons. He goes twice a week with Miss Cara and he is almost as obsessed with it as he is with Mimi's car. He squeals when we pull in to the neighborhood and throws his arms up and yells "Yah!" when we get to the pool. So cute...
Where's Cara?

Waiting as patiently as possible...
