Carwash: An "Amazing" 3rd Birthday

For those who know Tucker even a little bit you have undoubtedly heard about his 1st fetish: the American Carwash. He is totally and completely obsessed with them in every way, shape and form imaginable. Yes, this sounds weird, and it is, and it is even harder to aptly explain if you have never experienced it firsthand. Anyway, we had NO choice but to theme the party accordingly. Here are the pics and some explanations.
By the way, we were instructed to make the carwash cake, and I was able to construct an actual car/kid-wash for the party. It was really easy to make and the kids loved it.

This would be me building the carwash at 11:30pm friday night

Running water and moving rollers...we spare no expense. For those scoring at home we are looking at about $80 in material and 2 hours.

It was a pool party as well at Mimi's pool...there was a ton of swimming.

An "Amazing" day cont.

THE cake. Publix cake on the bottom/Homemade on top. The car wash party idea started when Tucker told Libby (who had just said "I've never seen a car wash cake before, Tucker.") "Don't worry, Mama, you can make it!"
Tucker's picture frame. The only time during the entire party he stopped riding through the carwash.

Traffic jam at the car wash.
Cameron and Tucker Sharp, and Binny Benus (Vinny Venus)...Tucker-speak
Yes...we had crafts. Yes, it was a boy's party....this is a new phenomenon for me.

Issie drank the car wash!

Reason #149

Reason #149 that Tucker is Kyle, Jr. is the way he has a hard time getting through a swim lesson because he is so interested in finding out all about Miss Katelyn. Just as she is about to send him swimming to the wall he'll pop up and ask questions like "Miss Katelyn, where do you live?" or "Where is your Mama?" or "How long are you swimming today?"

I keep telling her to just go ahead and send him in to the water. We're paying top dollar here and only have 20 minutes! No time to talk Tucker!! But he has to get to know all the details of her life... SO KYLE.

In case you were wondering

if Tucker is over his obsession with car washes...

he is not. These are just a few versions from TODAY alone.

Happy Birthday Livvy!!!!

A few quotables.

Setting: Tuck and I are in the pet store buying food; female employee sweeping the floor.
TER: (very loudly) "Daddio, what's that lady doing?"
Daddio: "She's cleaning the floor."
TER: "Why?"
Daddio: "Because it's dirty."
TER: "Why?"
Daddio: "Because the dogs and cats bring in dirt and shed their hair."
TER: "Why?"
Daddio: "Hmmm....Tuck, I don't know how to answer that."

I have recently begun asking him "Why?" everytime he asks me "Why?"...needless to say it confuses him and he ends up laughing saying "Daddio, stop saying 'why'". I feel like I win those battles.

"Mama, what's your best dance move?"

Tucker and Kyle eating dinner at the table together; Libby is out for dinner. Out of nowhere...
"Daddio, this is bun." (bun = fun)

Mimi took him to the bathroom the other day and came back about to wet her pants with this doozy...As he is standing up peeing...
"Mimi, I peed my ginders!" (ginders = fingers)

Night Night!

Silly Daddio time...
Sweet real sleep time...

4th of July Festivities

First and foremost (if you are a toddler), there was a toddler bounce house. Tucker and Kathryn were in heaven!

There was a rib cook off.

Waiting for the fireworks to start... gorgeous sunset on the river.
A friend without kids brought a firework show of his own and shot it off the dock before the downtown fire works began. It freaked Tucker out so much -- all he wanted to do was go home -- but we managed to convince him to come back out for the "far away" fireworks. Which he loved.

Spring Training back in March

Cards v. Mets
Actually took a nap on me he was so tired! Unheard of!

Many pics of St.Louie

Lots of time with the birthday girl - Cia!!!

Betsy, Casey & Cia
At Grant's Farm (out of order)

At the big birthday party!

Fishing with Pop & Great Grandpa. Tucker caught THREE fish... but didn't want to touch them!

On the Zoo Train - a major highlight of the week.

Zoo train engine.

At Grant's Farm with Deena & Darin's kiddos, Andrew & Adam.

Lots of Beach Time

We've been going to the beach a lot lately... I vowed to go once a week and we are pretty close after last week. While Kyle went to Canada fishing, Tucker & I hung out down at Kyle's mom's house at the beach all week. The picture above was Memorial Day at Plantation Beach Club. It was a gorgeous evening and a fun atmosphere!

This is Tuck at the Ponte Vedra Inn & Club... he only wanted the pool, pool, pool. Apparently the waves are "scawy." This place has perhaps the best atmosphere anywhere - with all the pools looking out over the ocean. We spent the week swimming and playing at eating at Mimi's! We did have some withdrawl problems after getting that much Mimi time... Tucker did not want to go back home to the real world!

Bowling & Trolleys

Kyle, Tyler, Davis & Tut had a Day-O-Fun that included golf and eating and eating and bowling.

A couple weeks ago, Tucker fufilled a dream... we rode the Riverside Trolley on the other side of the river from us. They are brand new, extremely well air-conditioned & very fun for an almost 3 year old. We may be doing this every other hot day this summer! It takes you from a 5 points in Riverside, through all of downtown and back around.
